In short

A loose leaf tea gift has three parts: one tea the person will enjoy, one tool to brew it, and a card that says how. Choose the tea by flavor. Jasmine Pearls is floral and contains caffeine, Evening Repose is minty and floral without caffeine, Firefly Chai is spiced, Orange Cream Rooibos is bright and tangy, and Golden Black is a smooth black tea with caffeine. Add a Celestial Tea Strainer for one mug, Press 'N Brew bags to fill yourself, or a Fuji Glass Teapot for sharing. On the card, copy the brew instructions and any precautions from the product page. Mountain Rose Herbs ships only to the US and Canada, and prices and stock change, so check each page before you order. This HealthStylz guide uses the prices shown on Oct 23, 2026.

Key takeaways

  1. Pick one tea by flavor: floral, spiced, minty, bright, or a true tea with caffeine.
  2. Pair it with one brewing tool and a card that copies the brew instructions and precautions from the product page.
  3. Mountain Rose Herbs ships only to the US and Canada, and returns must be postmarked within 30 days of delivery, with exclusions.

One tea, one tool, one card

A loose leaf tea gift does not need to be big to feel personal. The simple version has three parts: a tea picked for the person, a tool that makes brewing easy, and a small card with the instructions.

Start with what the person already likes to drink. If you are unsure, a caffeine free herbal blend works for an evening cup. The flavor notes below come from Mountain Rose Herbs product pages.

Pick the tea by flavor

Floral

Jasmine Pearls Tea is made from young green tea leaves rolled into pearls and infused with fresh jasmine blossoms. Mountain Rose Herbs describes a light, refreshing floral aroma with a smooth vegetal flavor, and lists it as containing caffeine. For loose flowers, US grown Chamomile Flowers come in 1 oz., 4 oz. and 1 lb. bags, with a scent the page compares to apples or pineapple.

Minty

Evening Repose Tea mixes chamomile, peppermint, spearmint, lavender, lemon verbena and rose petals. It is listed as caffeine free, with a crisp, light, minty flavor, and the page calls it "Great iced." For a single herb, Peppermint Leaf is organically cultivated in the United States and is the lowest priced item in the table below.

Spiced

Firefly Chai is a caffeine free chai on a red rooibos base with ginger, cassia cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and nutmeg. Mountain Rose Herbs describes it as warm and piquant, with a semi-sweet linger.

Bright

Orange Cream Rooibos Tea blends red rooibos with orange peel, hibiscus, rosehips and vanilla flavoring. The page describes a distinct vanilla aroma with a naturally sweet and tangy flavor, lists it as caffeine free, and says it is perfect any time of day, hot or iced.

True tea, with caffeine

Golden Black Tea is grown in eastern Nepal by what Mountain Rose Herbs calls Nepal's first cooperative tea operation. The page describes a smooth, chocolaty flavor and says the long, twisting leaves can be steeped 2 to 3 times per cup. Matcha, a ceremonial grade powder shade grown in the Kyoto Prefecture, suits someone who likes to whisk. Both are listed as containing caffeine.

Add one brewing tool

  • For one mug at a time: the Celestial Tea Strainer, a stainless steel mesh basket with a celestial design around the rim. Mountain Rose Herbs says it suits all sizes of mugs and fits well on small teapots.
  • For work or travel: Press 'N Brew Tea Bags, empty bags you fill and iron shut. The small size, 2.25 by 2.25 inches, is good for single cups, and the large size, 4 by 5 inches, is good for whole pots. The page names gifts as one use, so pre-fill a few with your chosen tea.
  • For sharing: the Fuji Glass Teapot, in 18 oz. and 32 oz. sizes, with an extra fine stainless steel strainer built into the lid. It is listed as dishwasher safe.

Write the brew card

Copy the brew instructions from the product page, plus the caffeine note and any precautions. An Evening Repose card could read:

  • Fill 1 tablespoon of tea in a cloth tea bag or mesh basket.
  • Pour 8 ounces of boiling water over the tea.
  • Steep 3 to 5 minutes, or until it reaches the strength you like.
  • Caffeine free. Contains chamomile; people with allergies to the Asteraceae family should exercise caution.

A Jasmine Pearls card would say 1 teaspoon per 8 ounces of boiling water for 1 to 2 minutes, plus "Contains caffeine." If you pre-fill Press 'N Brew bags, name the tea on the card, and note that page's advice to store unused bagged teas in a sealed container to maintain freshness.

Shipping, gift certificates and returns

Mountain Rose Herbs says it only processes and ships orders with billing and shipping addresses in the United States and Canada, and its website prices are in US dollars, including for Canadian customers. Its captured policy pages do not list holiday cutoff dates. The FAQ says estimated fulfillment times appear next to each shipping method at checkout, though not for USPS, and points to its Shipping Information page for timeframes. Check there before counting on a date.

Short on time? The FAQ says the company sells electronic gift certificates that are emailed to the recipient as soon as the order is placed. They can be used only for orders on its website, not at its physical stores.

The return policy allows returns postmarked within 30 days from the delivery date. Items must be in original, undamaged packaging, refunds cover only the unused portion, exchanges are not offered, and products mixed or blended with other ingredients are not accepted. Original shipping is non-refundable, and tea you repack or blend may no longer qualify.

Safety first. Jasmine Pearls, Golden Black and Matcha are each listed as containing caffeine, so choose a caffeine free blend for someone who avoids it. The Evening Repose page states: "Persons with allergies to members of the Asteraceae family should exercise caution with chamomile." The Chamomile Flowers page adds: "Caution should be taken when using near the eyes as the small flower hairs may cause eye irritation if not strained properly." The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health notes that people allergic to related plants such as ragweed, chrysanthemums, marigolds, or daisies are more likely to react to chamomile. Firefly Chai contains nutmeg and cloves. The Peppermint Leaf page lists no known precautions. For the Fuji Glass Teapot, Mountain Rose Herbs says not to put the pot on a heating element and not to lift it by the filter lid. Anyone pregnant, nursing, or on medication should talk with a clinician before trying new teas or herbs.
